Tips:
- Use fresh tomatoes: Fresh tomatoes have a more vibrant flavor than canned tomatoes. If you can, use a variety of tomatoes, such as Roma, San Marzano, and cherry tomatoes, to create a complex flavor profile.
- Roast the tomatoes before using them: Roasting the tomatoes brings out their natural sweetness and intensifies their flavor. To roast the tomatoes, simply toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and then roast them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-40 minutes, or until they are caramelized and slightly browned.
- Use a good quality broth: The broth is the base of the soup, so it's important to use a good quality broth. Look for a broth that is made with real ingredients and has a rich flavor.
- Add some cream or milk: Cream or milk adds a rich and creamy texture to the soup. If you are using heavy cream, you can add it directly to the soup. If you are using milk, you should first whisk it with a little cornstarch to prevent it from curdling.
- Season the soup to taste: Once you have added all of the ingredients, taste the soup and season it to taste. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or herbs, depending on your personal preference.
Conclusion:
This makeover cream of tomato soup is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The roasted tomatoes give the soup a rich and flavorful taste, and the cream or milk adds a creamy and velvety texture. This soup is also a good source of vitamins and minerals, making it a healthy and satisfying meal.
