Tips:

  • Use a combination of ground meats: Combining different types of ground meat, such as beef, pork, and veal, can create a more flavorful meatloaf.
  • Add moisture to the meatloaf: To prevent the meatloaf from becoming dry, add moisture with ingredients like eggs, milk, or tomato sauce.
  • Use breadcrumbs or crackers to bind the meatloaf: Breadcrumbs or crackers help to bind the meatloaf together and prevent it from falling apart.
  • Season the meatloaf liberally: Use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and herbs, to flavor the meatloaf.
  • Cook the meatloaf at a low temperature: Cooking the meatloaf at a low temperature helps to prevent it from drying out.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: Allowing the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing helps the juices to redistribute, making for a more tender and flavorful meatloaf.
