BROCCOLI, RICE, CHEESE, AND CHICKEN CASSEROLE

Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole image

This is a delicious twist to broccoli, rice, and cheese casserole, and is VERY easy to make. You can also cut this in half. I use the 1 can cream of mushroom soup when I make half. You can also leave out the onion. It just gives it a little added flavor, but is still very good without it.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help you stay organized and prevent any mishaps.
  • Cook the Rice Perfectly: Properly cooked rice is essential for a successful casserole. Follow the package instructions carefully and make sure the rice is cooked al dente, with a slight bite to it.
  • Use Fresh Vegetables: Fresh broccoli florets and chopped onion add flavor and texture to the casserole. If you don't have fresh broccoli, you can use frozen broccoli florets that have been thawed and drained.
  • Make a Creamy Cheese Sauce: The cheese sauce is what brings the casserole together. Use a good quality cheddar cheese and make sure the sauce is smooth and creamy. You can adjust the amount of milk to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Don't Overcook the Casserole: The casserole only needs to be baked until the cheese sauce is bubbly and the broccoli is tender. Overcooking can result in a dry, rubbery casserole.

Conclusion:

Mom's Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages. With its creamy cheese sauce, tender broccoli, and fluffy rice, this casserole is sure to be a hit at your next family gathering or potluck.
