COPYCAT KILLER SHRIMP

Copycat Killer Shrimp image

This is a copycat recipe, after the Killer Shrimp restaurant in Southern California. This is the most authentic recipe I have found -with some minor adjustments, and is wonderfull. Be sure to serve with alot of crusty bread for dipping, the broth and bread is the best part of the meal to me. I usually do half and half clam broth and chicken broth, as a personal preference. We do peel and eat shrimp, but I have made with peeled shrimp as well. Posting here as I don't see another like it combined with safe keeping, can't lose this!

Tips:

  • Choose the freshest shrimp possible. Fresh shrimp should have a firm, translucent texture and a mild, briny smell. Avoid shrimp that is slimy or has a strong odor.
  • Clean the shrimp thoroughly. To clean shrimp, remove the head and shell. Then, devein the shrimp by making a shallow incision along the back of the shrimp and removing the dark vein. Rinse the shrimp well under cold water.
  • Marinate the shrimp. Marinating the shrimp in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs will help to tenderize the shrimp and add flavor.
  • Cook the shrimp properly. Shrimp should be cooked quickly over high heat. Overcooking will make the shrimp tough and rubbery. Shrimp is cooked when it turns pink and opaque.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately. Shrimp is best served immediately after it is cooked. You can serve shrimp with a variety of dipping sauces, such as cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or lemon butter.

Conclusion:

Killer shrimp is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. With its bold flavors and tender texture, killer shrimp is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give killer shrimp a try. You won't be disappointed!
