1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon poppy seed
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Steps:

  • In large frying pan, melt butter over medium-high heat.
  • Saute onions 10 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • Set aside 2 tbsp of this mixture for the topping.
  • In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.

25g caster sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
115g cheddar cheese, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
125ml milk
3 tbsp sunflower oil
