Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 small pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
1 small pkg. tapiocca pudding (not instant)
1 small pkg. orange jello
3 c water
2 can(s) mandarin oranges, drained
1 small tub cool whip whipped topping
1 graham cracker pie crust (i use 2 extra serving size)

Steps:

  • 1. Stir Mixes into water, and heat to boiling on stove, stirring constantly.. once boiling remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • 2. drain oranges, and fold into cooled mixture, then lightly add the cool whip just till blended.
  • 3. Pour into pie crust, and freeze.. till ready to serve... remove from freezer to thaw 30 min. befor serving, I always have a little bit that doesn't fit into pie shell, so I put it in 2 dishes for my Hubby and me a treat!!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe oranges for the best flavor. Look for oranges that are heavy for their size and have a deep orange color. Avoid oranges with bruises or soft spots.
  • Zest the oranges before juicing them. This will help release the essential oils and give the pie a more intense orange flavor.
  • Use fresh squeezed orange juice for the best results. Bottled orange juice can be used, but it will not give the pie the same flavor and consistency.
  • Chill the pie crust before baking. This will help prevent the crust from shrinking and cracking.
  • Bake the pie until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The filling should be firm to the touch and should not jiggle when the pie is shaken.
  • Chill the pie completely before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the pie to set properly.
