Steps:
- 1. Combine flour and 1 tbsp Sweet Heat Blend into a gallon sized ziptop bag. This will cut down the mess! Set aside.
- 2. Using paper towels, pat your fish to remove excess liquid. The drier you can get your fish, the better that breading will stick.
- 3. Cut each fillet into four pieces (16 total), dip in egg and then place three pieces at a time in Panko mixture bag. Seal bag shut and shake. Press the breading into the fish. Remove and place in a baking sheet lined with paper towels. Repeat with remaining fillets.
- 4. Heat oil and butter over medium-high heat in a non-stick frying pan until bubbling and hot.
- 5. Place the breaded fish sticks into pan fry until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan. You may have to make two or three batches. Remove and place on paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra oil. Sprinkle lightly with additional salt after you remove from pan (optional).
- 6. Serve with tartar sauce or sweet chili sauce depending on your preference. Enjoy!

PANKO-CRUSTED FISH STICKS
Steps:
- Combine milk and eggs in a large bowl; stir with a whisk. Add fish, and toss gently to coat. Place panko, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a large zip-top bag. Add fish to panko mixture; seal bag. Shake bag gently to coat fish. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add half of fish; cook 4 minutes or until done, turning occasionally to brown all sides. Repeat procedure with remaining 1 tablespoon oil and remaining fish. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise, pickles, capers, remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl. Serve sauce with fish.
Tips:
- Choose the right fish: For best results, choose a firm, white fish such as cod, haddock, tilapia, or flounder.
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: This will make a big difference in the final flavor of the dish.
- Don't overcook the fish: Cooking fish too long will make it dry and tough. Cook it just until it is opaque in the center.
- Use a light hand with the seasonings: A little bit of salt and pepper goes a long way. You can always add more seasonings to taste, but it's hard to remove them once they're added.
- Serve the fish immediately: Panko-fried fish is best served hot and crispy. If you let it sit for too long, it will start to get soggy.
Conclusion:
Panko-fried fish is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served with a variety of sides. It's perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal, or it can be dressed up for a special occasion. With these tips, you can make perfect panko-fried fish every time.
