Time 15m

Yield 32 sandwich wedges, 32 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
8 whole pita breads (6 inches)
1 1/2 cups fresh Baby Spinach
1 lb cooked ham, shaved
1/2 lb monterey jack cheese, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, mayonnaise, dill and garlic salt until blended.
  • Cut each pita in half horizontally; spread with cream cheese mixture. On eight pita halves, layer the spinach, ham and cheese. Top with remaining pita halves. Cut each pita into four wedges; secure with toothpicks.

Tips:

  • Prep Ahead: To save time, marinate the chicken and vegetables beforehand, even overnight. Pre-cook the chicken and veggies if you're short on time on the day of your party.
  • Choose Quality Ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients make a big difference in the taste of your pitas. Look for ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and flavorful herbs.
  • Use a Variety of Toppings: Offer a variety of toppings to cater to different tastes. Some popular options include grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, hummus, tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, and olives.
  • Don't Overstuff the Pitas: Overstuffed pitas are difficult to eat and can become soggy. Aim to fill them with just enough ingredients to create a satisfying bite.
  • Keep Warm: If you're making the pitas ahead of time, keep them warm in a low oven or a slow cooker until ready to serve.

Conclusion:

Party pitas are a delicious and versatile party food that can be easily customized to suit your tastes and preferences. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a crowd-pleasing spread that will have your guests coming back for more. So next time you're hosting a party, consider serving party pitas. They're sure to be a hit!
