Slice the ends off the zested lemon, cut five (1/4-inch-thick) slices, and tuck them among the shrimp. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, just until the shrimp are firm, pink, and cooked through. Tips:

  • Choose Fresh Shrimp: Opt for large, firm shrimp with a shiny, translucent appearance and no off-putting odor. Avoid shrimp that are discolored or have a slimy texture.
  • Properly Devein and Peel Shrimp: Devein shrimp to remove the sand vein, which can have a gritty texture. Peel the shrimp, leaving the tail intact for a visually appealing presentation.
  • Season and Marinate Shrimp: Enhance the flavor of shrimp by seasoning them with a flavorful blend of spices, herbs, and citrus. Marinating the shrimp in this mixture for 15-30 minutes tenderizes them and infuses them with delicious flavors.
  • Use a High-Quality Olive Oil: Choose a robust and flavorful extra virgin olive oil to enhance the taste of the shrimp. Olive oil also helps to prevent the shrimp from sticking to the pan during roasting.
  • Roast in a Hot Oven: Preheat the oven to a high temperature (400°F or 200°C) to ensure that the shrimp cook quickly and evenly. This high heat sears the exterior of the shrimp, locking in the juices and creating a slightly crispy texture.
  • Watch the Cooking Time: Overcooking can result in tough, rubbery shrimp. Cook the shrimp for 8-10 minutes, or until they are opaque and pink in color. Avoid overcooking as it can make the shrimp dry and chewy.
  • Garnish Before Serving: Before serving the roasted shrimp, garnish them with fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, or dill. This adds a vibrant pop of color and enhances the overall presentation of the dish.

Conclusion:

Party-roasted shrimp is a versatile and delicious appetizer or main course that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. By following these tips and tricks, you can create perfectly cooked shrimp that are bursting with flavor.
