This makes a fantastic meat for Philly steak sandwiches. You can even use lower grade roasts and have this turn out. It also makes its own au jus if you like to dip as I do. To serve, sautee a sliced onion and sliced green pepper in a skillet. Put meat on a sub bun and top with onion and green pepper and Swiss or provolone cheese on top of that. Leave open-faced and broil until the cheese just starts to brown. The top of the bun will brown fast so don't broil that until the cheese has completely melted and just starts to show color.

4 pounds ribeye, trim off fat
2 packets Lipton onion soup mix
6 large baking potatos, diced
2 cups water
1 large onion, sliced
Olive oil
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Season ribeye with salt, pepper and onion powder. Brown all sides of ribeye in a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Transfer ribeye to slow cooker with half of the potatoes and half of the onions covering the bottom. Place remaining potatoes and onions on top of ribeye. Combine water and soup mix in a small bowl, pour all over the top of the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours (or cook on high for 3 to 4). Meat should be fork tender.

½ cup low sodium soy sauce
¼ cup sesame oil
2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced

1 lb brussels sprouts, hulled and halved
2 red bell peppers, diced
2 large carrots, diced
2 cups brown rice, cooked

Steps:

  • Slice the top sirloin steaks into half-inch (1 ¼ cm) thick strips.
  • Place soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, onion and meat in a large slow cooker and mix thoroughly.
  • Place the lid on top.

1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt

1 (3.5 pound) eye of round roast
6 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
2 carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces
2 stalks celery, diced
2 sweet onions, diced
1 cup beef broth
½ cup Marsala wine
