I was at the local grocery store and had an idea of trying a pork shoulder on my electric Black Angus Rotisserie from 1950 that I permanently borrowed from my mom, since she was not putting it to use! I use this rotisserie all the time! From chicken, beef, pork and even fish! Have to keep a close eye on the last one!

I have a Black Angus Rotisserie that I have permanently borrowed from my mom since she was not using it. Once you use one of these babies, you will wonder why you have not tried it for larger cuts of meat or anything for that matter that can be tied to the spit.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork shoulder: Look for a pork shoulder that is between 8 and 10 pounds. This size will fit perfectly on a rotisserie spit and will cook evenly.
  • Prepare the pork shoulder properly: Remove any excess fat from the pork shoulder and trim the bone. Then, score the skin of the pork shoulder to help the seasoning penetrate.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give the pork shoulder its flavor, so choose one that you like. Some popular options include garlic, rosemary, thyme, and olive oil.
  • Cook the pork shoulder slowly: The key to tender, juicy pork shoulder is to cook it slowly. Cook the pork shoulder on a rotisserie over low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the pork shoulder rest before carving: Once the pork shoulder is cooked, let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in more flavorful and tender pork.

Conclusion:

Rotisserie pork shoulder is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your pork shoulder turns out perfect every time. So, fire up your rotisserie and get ready to enjoy some amazing pork shoulder!
