Tips:

  • Use fresh limes for the best flavor. Key limes are ideal, but regular limes can also be used.
  • Make sure the coconut milk is full-fat. This will give the pie a richer flavor and texture.
  • Don't overbeat the egg yolks. Overbeating can make the custard curdle.
  • Bake the pie until the center is just set. Overbaking will make the pie dry and crumbly.
  • Chill the pie for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the pie to set properly.
  • Garnish the pie with whipped cream, toasted coconut, or lime zest before serving.

Conclusion:

This rum coconut key lime pie is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of coconut, lime, and rum is irresistible, and the creamy filling and graham cracker crust are the perfect complement to each other.
