BOW TIE PASTA WITH SAUSAGE AND ASPARAGUS
I'm typically not a lover of asparagus mixed with pasta but in this dish, IT ROCKS! My family appreciates a drier pasta so if yours likes things a bit saucier you may want to double the EVOO/butter to get it to your consistency. I usually love broccoli mixed in a pasta like this but the asparagus is by far the better choice!

Steps:
- 1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
- 2. Heat oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage and pepper flakes until sausage is evenly brown. Stir in onion and garlic, and cook until onion is tender. Stir in tomatoes, cream, and salt. Simmer until mixture thickens, 8 to 10 minutes.
- 3. Stir cooked pasta into sauce, and heat through.
Tips:
- Choose high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Opt for Italian sausage, fresh vegetables, and flavorful cheeses.
- Cook the sausage thoroughly to prevent any potential foodborne illness. Ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) before consuming.
- For optimal texture, cook the pasta al-dente, which means slightly firm to the bite. This will prevent it from becoming mushy when combined with the sauce.
- Don't overcrowd the pasta in the pot. This can result in uneven cooking and prevent the pasta from absorbing enough water, leading to a less flavorful dish.
- Season the dish generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Conclusion:
This sausage bow-tie pasta is a delightful and versatile dish that showcases the perfect balance of flavors and textures. Whether you're hosting a casual family dinner or a special occasion gathering, this recipe is sure to impress. It's a delicious and comforting meal that can be easily customized to suit your preferences.
