Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
  • Use Fresh Seafood: The fresher your seafood, the better your Shrimp Campechana will be. If you can, try to buy your shrimp and fish from a local fish market or seafood counter.
  • Cook Your Seafood Properly: Overcooked seafood is tough and chewy. To avoid this, cook your shrimp and fish just until they are opaque and cooked through.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: When you're cooking your shrimp and fish, don't overcrowd the pan. This will cause the seafood to steam instead of sear, and it will end up being soggy.
  • Season Your Seafood: Don't forget to season your seafood before you cook it. This will help to bring out the natural flavors of the seafood.
  • Use a Variety of Vegetables: Shrimp Campechana is a great way to use up leftover vegetables. Feel free to add any vegetables that you like to the dish.
  • Make Your Own Salsa: If you have the time, making your own salsa is a great way to add extra flavor to your Shrimp Campechana. There are many different recipes available online, so you can find one that you like.
  • Serve Immediately: Shrimp Campechana is best served immediately after it is made. This will help to keep the seafood from getting overcooked.
