If you are trying to find an easy, yet delicious recipe for a simple french toast strata, there are several things you should keep in mind. First, you want to select a quality bread. While you can use any type of bread for this recipe, a brioche or challah is a great option. This type of bread will soak up the custard and become very fluffy. Second, you want to use a variety of fillings. Some popular options include berries, fruit, nuts, and chocolate chips. Finally, you want to make sure you have the right amount of custard. If you use too much custard, the strata will be too soggy. If you use too little custard, the strata will be too dry.

Let's cook with our recipes!

Tips:

  • Use a good quality bread for your strata. A stale or dry bread will not absorb the egg mixture as well and will result in a less flavorful dish.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of bread. You can use a variety of breads, including white bread, wheat bread, sourdough bread, and even croissants.
  • Add your favorite fillings to the strata. Some popular fillings include cheese, ham, bacon, vegetables, and fruit.
  • Make sure to soak the bread in the egg mixture for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the bread to absorb the egg mixture and will help to prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Bake the strata in a preheated oven. This will help to ensure that the strata cooks evenly.
  • Serve the strata warm or at room temperature. You can also top the strata with additional fillings, such as syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.
