SIMPLE MARINADE AND RUB FOR FISH
This Mediterranean marinade couldn't get any easier. I created it for the Zaar World Tour 6, in honor of our team, Zee Zany Zesty Cookz. (Cute, huh?) I personally think this marinade works best on a firm, white fish, ie. swordfish, etc... The capers and lemon, added while cooking the fish, complement each other so very well. I hope you enjoy! *Note - the amounts work well for about 6 fish filets. I haven't included the fish in the recipe, but did include instructions for how to cook your fish.*

Tips:
- Choose the right fish: Not all fish are created equal when it comes to marinating. Some fish, like salmon and tuna, are better suited for marinating than others, like cod and tilapia. Salmon and tuna are oily fish, which means they can stand up to the strong flavors of a marinade. Cod and tilapia are leaner fish, and they can easily become overcooked.
- Use fresh herbs and spices: Dried herbs and spices can be used in a pinch, but fresh herbs and spices will give your marinade a much brighter, more flavorful taste. If you're using fresh herbs, be sure to chop them finely so that they can easily infuse the fish with flavor.
- Don't overdo it on the marinade: A little marinade goes a long way. If you marinate the fish for too long, it can become tough and dry. 30 minutes to 2 hours is usually enough time for the marinade to penetrate the fish.
- Use a resealable bag or container: This will help to keep the marinade in contact with the fish and prevent it from drying out.
- Flip the fish halfway through marinating: This will ensure that the fish is evenly marinated.
- Discard the marinade after use: Do not reuse the marinade, as it can contain harmful bacteria.
Conclusion:
Marinating fish is a great way to add flavor and moisture to your meal. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a delicious, healthy fish dish that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy way to cook fish, give marinating a try. Experiment with different flavors and recipes to find the ones you like best.
