Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ingredients: Use fresh oranges, garlic, ginger, and green onions for the best flavor. Select a flavorful beer that complements the chicken, such as a light lager or amber ale.
  • Marinate the chicken: Marinating the chicken in the beer and orange juice mixture helps tenderize and infuse it with flavor. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Cook the chicken on low heat: Slow cooking the chicken ensures that it is cooked through and tender. Cook the chicken on low for 6-8 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Thicken the sauce: If the sauce is too thin, thicken it with a cornstarch slurry. Make a slurry by mixing equal parts cornstarch and water, then whisking it into the sauce until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately: Serve the chicken and orange sauce over rice or noodles. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds for a colorful and flavorful dish.

Conclusion:

Slow cooker beer orange chicken is an easy and flavorful dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the orange sauce is sweet and tangy. This dish is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
