Tips:

  • Use a high-quality pork shoulder or pork butt for the best results. This cut of meat has a lot of flavor and fat, which will help to keep the pork moist and tender as it cooks.
  • Season the pork generously with a mixture of spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, oregano, and paprika. This will help to create a delicious flavor crust on the pork.
  • Sear the pork shoulder or pork butt in a hot skillet before adding it to the slow cooker. This will help to seal in the juices and create a more flavorful dish.
  • Add plenty of liquid to the slow cooker, such as chicken broth, water, or tomato sauce. This will help to keep the pork moist and prevent it from drying out.
  • Cook the pork on low for 8-10 hours, or until it is fall-apart tender. The longer you cook the pork, the more tender it will be.
  • Shred the pork with two forks or a meat shredder before serving. This will make it easy to eat and enjoy.

Conclusion:

This slow cooker Puerto Rican shredded pork is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover pork shoulder or pork butt, and it can be served with a variety of sides, such as rice, beans, or tortillas. If you are looking for a flavorful and satisfying meal, this slow cooker Puerto Rican shredded pork is a great option.
