Number Of Ingredients 5

1 can(s) fully cooked luncheon meat, 12 0z. (such as spam®), grated
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 c all-purpose biscuit baking mix
1 tsp water
1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  • 3. NOTES: For some added zing, serve with dipping sauce made of 3 parts sour cream and one part Dijon mustard. Use the large holes of a cheese grater to grate the SPAM®.

Tips:

  • Use a stand mixer or hand mixer to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This will help to create a light and fluffy batter.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will result in a tough and dense spam puff.
  • Be careful not to overcook the spam puffs. They should be cooked until golden brown and cooked through, but not dry.
  • Serve the spam puffs immediately. They are best when eaten fresh.
  • Spam puffs can be made ahead of time and reheated in a warm oven before serving.
