Categories     Strawberry

Time 20m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 pinch salt
1 pinch cayenne pepper
12 cups Baby Spinach
1 pint strawberry, sliced
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, toss together almonds, corn syrup, sugar, salt and cayenne pepper until coated. Spread in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in 325F oven, stirring occasionally to break up clumps, for about 12 minutes. Let cool completely on pan on rack. Break into pieces.
  • For the dressing, whisk together oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  • In a large bowl, toss spinach with dressing. Sprinkle with candied almonds and strawberries.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh ingredients: Using ripe, flavorful strawberries, crisp spinach, and crunchy almonds will make a big difference in the taste of your salad.
  • Make your own dressing: The homemade dressing in this recipe is simple to make and much healthier than store-bought dressings. Plus, you can customize it to your own taste.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little dressing goes a long way. Too much dressing will weigh down the salad and make it soggy.
  • Serve the salad immediately: Spinach salad is best when served fresh. The strawberries will start to wilt if the salad sits for too long.

Conclusion:

This spinach salad with strawberries and almonds is a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy fresh summer produce. It's perfect for a light lunch or dinner, or as a side dish at a potluck or barbecue. The combination of sweet strawberries, crunchy almonds, and tangy dressing is sure to please everyone at the table.
