TACO MAC BUFFALO HOT WINGS

Taco Mac Buffalo Hot Wings image

My husband loves Taco Mac. We moved to Denver recently and no Taco Mac.This is my attempt to duplicate them for him. He loved them so I guess they are close.

Provided by debbies dishes

Categories     Chicken

Time 45m

Yield 2-3 pounds wings, 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/4 cup butter
1 cup Durkee's sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
2 -3 lbs chicken wings
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
vegetable oil, for frying

Steps:

  • Combine hot sauce, butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and sugar; mix well in a pot and warm the sauce until butter is melted. Keep warm until ready to use.
  • If the wings are frozen, be sure to defrost and dry them.
  • If they have not been clipped yet, clip the tips off, and separate at the joint.
  • Wash them well in cool water. Season with salt, paprika and cayenne.
  • Put on a paper towel covered rack/tray in the refrigerator overnight to air dry. ( This is critical if you want to match the texture of Taco Macs, especially if they were frozen).
  • Oil should be about 375 degrees. Deep fry the wings in batches until just golden, about 10 to 15 minutes or until some parts of the wings begin to turn dark brown.
  • Remove the wings from the oil to a paper towel covered pain to drain and put in a warm oven (200 degrees) while cooking the remaining wings. But don't let them sit too long, because you want to serve the wings hot.
  • Put the wings into a large bowl with lid. Add the hot sauce. Put on the lid, then shake making sure to coat all the wings evenly. Serve any left over sauce on the side.
  • Serve with Bleu cheese dressing and celery sticks. Don't forget the beer!

ALLISON'S TACO WINGS

Allison's Taco Wings image

These are always a hit at our house, especially with the guys. This one is also from my SIL who is a great cook (thanks Al). It requires at least one hour of marination - but is best when marinated overnight.

Provided by Acerast

Categories     Chicken

Time 13h15m

Yield 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

18 -24 chicken wings
2 (1 1/4 ounce) packages taco seasoning (we like Old El Paso)
1/8 cup vinegar
1/8 cup oil
1 dash cayenne pepper (or more to taste)

Steps:

  • Clean chicken wings, cut at the joints into three pieces and discard wing tips.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the taco seasoning, vinegar, oil and cayenne by "squishing" the bag to make a paste.
  • Add the chicken wing pieces, seal the bag and "squish" until the paste is distributed evenly over the chicken pieces (if the paste is too thick then add a small amount of vinegar or water -- but remember it is a paste - almost a rub).
  • Marinate chicken 1 hour at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Spread wings pieces on a baking sheet lined with foil (for easiest clean-up). Try to maintain some space between each piece - use a second baking sheet if necessary.
  • Brush pieces with any extra paste.
  • Bake at 400 for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, turning half way through the baking time.
  • Can be held in a crock pot to serve at a party or buffet.

Categories     Poultry Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 lb chicken wings
1 pkg taco seasoning
1/4 c cornmeal
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp parsley flakes

Steps:

  • 1. To prepare chicken wings: combine taco seasoning, cornmeal, salt and parsley flakes in bag. Place wings in bag and shake, a few times until coated. Place in a single layer on greased shallow baking pans. Bake in 350F oven for 25 minutes. Turn wings and bake another 10 or until tender.

Tips:

  • Choose the right wings. Fresh, plump wings are the best choice for taco wings. Avoid wings that are frozen or have been previously cooked.
  • Season the wings well. A good blend of spices is essential for flavorful taco wings. Use a combination of chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook the wings thoroughly. Wings should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. This will ensure that they are safe to eat and that the meat is cooked through.
  • Use a variety of toppings. The best taco wings are topped with a variety of fresh and flavorful ingredients. Some popular toppings include shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
  • Serve the wings hot. Taco wings are best served hot and fresh out of the oven. This will ensure that the flavors are at their peak.

Conclusion:

Taco wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties or game day gatherings. With a variety of toppings to choose from, everyone can find a taco wing that they will enjoy. So next time you are looking for a fun and flavorful dish, give taco wings a try!
