BRAISED BEEF FLANKEN RIBS image

4 lbs. flanken ribs
2 tbsp. flour
salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. oil
4 cloves garlic
4 small white onions
3 carrots, quartered
1/2 green pepper, sliced
1 cu. dry red wine

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300"F. Wipe off ribs with paper towels, then sprinkle well with flour, salt, and pepper. 2. Heat oil in dutch oven, and first brown garlic, then push aside and brown flanken on all sides. 3. Remove from heat, add vegetables, and pour in wine. Cover pan and cook for about 2 1/2 hrs. Baste frequently and add more wine if sauce has evaporated. Serving suggestion: Serve with noodles, broccoli, and a good red wine.
