Dutch Apple Salad image

There's plenty of crunch in this refreshing salad that's perfect for autumn when apples are ripe for the picking. The simple milk and sugar dressing allows the fruit and veggie flavors to shine. You could use vanilla yogurt in place of the cooked dressing. -Shirley Joan Helfenbein, Lapeer, Michigan

This salad is a bit bland. I would recommend adding some more spices or herbs to give it more flavor.

The dressing is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would recommend reducing the amount of sugar or honey in the recipe.

I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise-based dressings, so I substituted Greek yogurt instead. It worked perfectly and gave the salad a lighter, tangier flavor. Highly recommend this substitution for those who are looking for a healthier option.
