Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 lb tilapia fillets
2 Tbsp lemon juice, fresh
1/2 c parmesan cheese, grated
1/3 c panko bread crumbs (optional)
4 Tbsp butter, room temperature
3 Tbsp mayonnaise
3 Tbsp green onion, finely chopped
1/4 tsp old bay seasoning
1/4 tsp basil
black pepper
1 dash(es) tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. In buttered 9" X 13" baking dish, lay fish fillets in single layer. Brush top with lemon juice.
  • 3. Bake fish in preheated oven for 10 to 20 minutes or until fish begins to flake.
  • 4. In bowl, combine cheese, bread crumbs (if used), butter, mayonnaise, onions and seasonings. Mix well with fork.
  • 5. Spread cheese mixture over fish and bake until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes. Baking time will depend upon thickness of fish. Watch fish closely so it doesn't overcook.
  • 6. NOTE: Can also be prepared in broiler. Broil 3 to 4 minutes or until nearly done. Add cheese mixture and broil another 2 to 3 minutes or until browned.

This recipe was a fail. The tilapia was overcooked and the parmesan cheese didn't melt. I would not recommend this recipe.

The tilapia parmesan was good, but not great. The fish was a little dry and the parmesan cheese didn't melt very well. I think I would try a different recipe next time.

Not bad! I used panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs and it turned out great. The tilapia was cooked evenly and the parmesan cheese was melted and bubbly. I served it with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce.

This tilapia parmesan was a hit with my family! The fish was cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The parmesan cheese added a nice salty flavor. I will definitely be making this again.
