Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/4 lbs ground turkey
1/2 cup applesauce
1/4 cup crisp bacon, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
4 hamburger buns
lettuce
1 tomatoes, sliced

Steps:

  • Mix turkey, applesauce, bacon, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper together gently with hands. Form into 4 burgers and place on waxed paper on a plate.
  • Mix mayonnaise, maple syrup, and mustard with a whisk until smooth. Set aside.
  • Heat grill or skillet. Brush burgers with vegetable oil to reduce sticking. Because these are fairly "soft" burgers [no filler], I like to cook on a perforated grill sheet on my grill to make them easier to turn and handle. Cook 4-5 minutes per side over medium heat, or until done. Toast buns on grill while second side cooks.
  • Put burgers on buns with lettuce and tomato. Spread with maple dijon sauce to taste.

These burgers were a bit too dry for my taste. I would recommend adding some more moisture, such as eggs or breadcrumbs, to the mixture.

These burgers are a great way to use up leftover turkey. They're also a healthier alternative to traditional beef burgers. I would give them a 4 out of 5 stars.

I would not recommend these burgers to someone who is looking for a flavorful and juicy burger.

Overall, I thought these burgers were just okay. I don't think I'll be making them again.

The burgers were a bit difficult to keep together on the grill. I think I'll try cooking them in a pan next time.

The burgers were a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I'll reduce the amount of maple syrup next time.

The burgers were a little bland. I think I'll add some more seasoning next time.

I'm not usually a fan of turkey burgers, but these were really good. The maple-dijon sauce made all the difference.
