Time 20m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

5 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 baguette

Steps:

  • Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until it softens but does not brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Let cool. Then stir this garlic butter into the remaining butter in a small bowl. Stir in the parsley, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Rip open the baguette lengthwise, so that it opens like a book but is not ripped entirely in half. Smear the inside of the baguette with the garlic butter. Wrap the baguette in aluminum foil and bake until heated through, 10 to 12 minutes.

This recipe is a bit bland. I think I'll add some more spices next time.

This is a great recipe for a quick and easy snack or appetizer. I like to serve it with a side of marinara sauce.

This recipe was a bit too garlicky for my taste. I think I'll use less garlic next time.

I'm not a big fan of garlic, but I loved this recipe. The parsley butter balanced out the garlic flavor perfectly.

This recipe is a keeper! The baguette was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The garlic parsley butter was the perfect complement, adding a savory and herbaceous flavor. I will definitely be making this again.
