4 slices bacon, chopped
2 cups packed shredded peeled russet potatoes (about 2 large)
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese

  • Preheat broiler. Melt butter in same skillet with bacon drippings over medium heat. Form potato mixture into four 4-inch-diameter patties. Add potatoes to skillet. I'm a big fan of rösti and this recipe didn't disappoint. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and the cheese was melted and gooey. I added a fried egg on top for extra richness.

This recipe was a hit with my family! The rösti were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The Gruyère cheese melted perfectly and added a delicious nutty flavor. I served it with a side of apple sauce and it was a hit!

This was my first time making rösti and it was a disaster! The potatoes didn't cook through and the cheese didn't melt. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I won't be making this recipe again.
