School Cafeteria Cranberry Crunch (1940s) image

From Gordon Jr. High Cafeteria, cut down for home use. Don't know where this school was/is.

1 c uncooked rolled oats (not instant)
1/2 c all purpose flour
1 c brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 c butter
1 can(s) (15-oz) jellied cranberry sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350F. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2. Mix oats, flour, and brown sugar.
  • 3. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • 4. Put half of mixture into prepared baking dish.
  • 5. Cover with cranberry sauce. Top with remaining crumb mixture.
  • 6. Bake for 40 minutes. Serve warm with pouring cream, whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
