Slow Cooker Mild Curry Split Black Lentils image

Mild, creamy split black Indian lentils.

6 cups water
1 ½ cups split black lentils
½ small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 teaspoons white sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons curry powder, or more to taste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, chopped
½ cup heavy whipping cream

Steps:

  • Combine water, lentils, onion, garlic, sugar, salt, curry powder, turmeric, and ginger root in slow cooker.
  • Cook on High for 5 hours. Stir cream into lentils until warmed through.
