These biscuits are a great way to use up leftover buttermilk. They're also a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. Just add some chopped carrots or zucchini to the batter.

I was skeptical about using self-rising flour instead of all-purpose flour, but it worked out great! The biscuits were still light and fluffy, and they had a slightly tangy flavor that I really enjoyed.

I've tried many southern oil biscuit recipes, but this one is by far the best. The biscuits are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness.
