Apple Date Crisp image

This is something a little different than the old standby dessert. Goes great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream a la mode!

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced
2 cups chopped dates
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Combine the apples and dates in an ungreased 13x9x2 inch baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  • Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Add nuts and then sprinkle over apples and dates.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F.
  • for 35 to 40 minutes or until the apples are tender.
  • Serve warm.
