I use a butter recipe cake mix and make a 2 layer cake or cut layers in half and make four. Taste like homemade.

Steps:
- 1. in a double boiler boil sugar milk and margarine to soft ball stage
- 2. remove from heat and add unwrapped caramels and stir until blended.
- 3. If it is not thick enough to spread, beat till the right consistancy. Spread on cake( 2 layer, 9x13, cupckes, or what ever.
