Time 50m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

6 vidalia onions
6 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Get the biggest Vidalias you can find. Peel and cut a thin slice off the top and bottom of the onion so that it sits flat in a casserole dish. Take out a little of the core and cut a bit X in the top of the onion. Place each onion on a large square of aluminum foil.
  • Top with pat of butter, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, to taste. Place in dish and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour, or until tender (check on these; you don't want it overcooked and too soft).
  • Variation: Prepare onions as above, but instead of Worcestershire sauce, pour on about 2 Tablespoons of Kahlua before baking. It makes them nice and sweet. You can also put these on a gas grill or nestle them right down into the charcoal (use heavy-duty aluminum foil).

These onions are so good! I love the sweetness of the Vidalia onions and the crunch of the breadcrumb topping. I will definitely be making this recipe again.

The onions were good, but the breadcrumb topping was a bit dry. I think I'll try using a different topping next time, like a Parmesan cheese crust.

These onions were a bit too sweet for my taste, but my husband loved them. I think next time I'll use a different type of onion, like a yellow onion.

These onions were easy to make and turned out great! I used a little less butter than the recipe called for, and they were still plenty flavorful. I served them with grilled chicken and roasted potatoes, and it was a delicious meal.

I'm not usually a fan of onions, but these baked Vidalia onions were surprisingly good. The sweetness of the onions really came through, and the breadcrumb topping added a nice touch. I'll definitely be making these again.

I made these onions for a potluck and they were a huge hit! Everyone loved them. I used a variety of cheeses, including cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan, and they all melted together perfectly. I will definitely be making these again.
