Time 2h

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 cup beef broth
2 eggs
½ cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound ground turkey
¾ pound ground beef
½ pound ground pork sausage
½ cup condensed tomato soup
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
½ teaspoon Dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Oil a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Place the onion and carrots into a saucepan, and pour in the beef broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and reduce heat to a simmer; cook, stirring often, until the vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes. Set the veggies and broth aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs, and stir in bread crumbs, basil, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes to moisten the crumbs, and lightly mix in the turkey, beef, and pork sausage. Mix in the cooked onions, carrots, and beef broth. Place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. In a bowl, mix the tomato soup, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon mustard together, and spread the mixture over the meat loaf.
  • Bake until the loaf is no longer pink in the center and an instant-read meat thermometer reads at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 1 1/2 hours.

TENNESSEE MEATLOAF

My Grandmother 'Nanaw' Rowan made the most delicious meatloaf in the state. When she passed away, she didn't leave me her recipe, but she left me the desire to recreate it. I think this is it, in flavor and texture. Don't let the number of ingredients discourage you. It's part of the magic in creating a masterpiece!

CHEESY, 3 MEATS, MEATLOAF

Cheesy, 3 Meats, Meatloaf image

This recipe came from a Taste of Home cookbook. This meatloaf is so amazingly good, I can't even explain it! I love cheese and I have never seen a meatloaf recipe that has cheese just seeping out, and the different meats make it wonderful! Oh, it's good. My hubby raved about this one. It's also great on sandwiches the next day!

Tips:

  • Choose the right meats: Use a combination of ground beef, pork, and veal for a classic meatloaf. You can also use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Use fresh herbs and spices: Fresh herbs and spices will give your meatloaf a more flavorful taste. Some good options include garlic, onion, parsley, thyme, and rosemary.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf: Overmixing the meatloaf will make it tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Bake the meatloaf in a loaf pan: A loaf pan will help the meatloaf hold its shape and cook evenly.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: The meatloaf is done when the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Conclusion:

With these tips in mind, you're sure to make a delicious and satisfying 3-meat meatloaf that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a hearty and flavorful main course, give this recipe a try.
