Time 18m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 tablespoons grated low-fat parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb potato, scrubbed, thin sliced
2 -3 sprays cooking spray

Steps:

  • In a small bowl: mix cheese, salt and garlic.
  • Place sliced potatoes in a large bowl.
  • Spray a light coating of cooking spray, toss and coat both sides.
  • Sprinkle tops with the cheese mixture.
  • Toss potatoes to season both sides.
  • Place in a shingled layer in the basket.
  • Bake on the french fry setting (400 degrees) for 10-13 minutes, flip half way through.

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Russet potatoes are the best choice for air fryer chips. They are low in sugar and starch, which means they will crisp up nicely. You can also use Yukon Gold or fingerling potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If you cut them too thick, they will not get crispy. If you cut them too thin, they will burn.
  • Season the potatoes: You can use any seasonings you like. Some popular options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. You can also add fresh herbs, such as rosemary or thyme.
  • Preheat your air fryer: This will help the potatoes cook evenly. Most air fryers have a preheat setting. If yours does not, simply set it to the highest temperature and let it run for 5 minutes before adding the potatoes.
  • Cook the potatoes in batches: This will help them cook evenly. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. If you do, the potatoes will not get crispy.
  • Shake the potatoes halfway through cooking: This will help them cook evenly. Simply open the air fryer basket and give the potatoes a shake.

Conclusion:

Air fryer chips are a healthy and delicious snack or side dish. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a little experimentation, you can find the perfect combination of seasonings and cooking time to create your favorite air fryer chips.
