Tips for Air Frying Plantain:

  • Choose ripe plantains: Look for plantains with a yellow or black peel, as these are the sweetest and have the best flavor.
  • Peel and slice the plantains: Use a sharp knife to carefully peel the plantains, then slice them into desired shapes, such as rounds, wedges, or chips.
  • Toss the plantains with oil and seasonings: In a bowl, combine the plantain slices with a drizzle of oil (such as olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil) and your desired seasonings. Common seasonings for plantains include salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
  • Preheat the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to the desired temperature, typically between 350°F (175°C) and 400°F (200°C).
  • Air fry the plantains: Place the seasoned plantain slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the plantains are tender and slightly browned.
  • Flip the plantains halfway through cooking: To ensure even cooking, flip the plantain slices halfway through the cooking time.
