Time 20m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
Kosher salt
6 mozzarella cheese sticks
Cooking spray
Marinara sauce, for serving

Steps:

  • Place the flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs in three separate shallow bowls. Season the flour and breadcrumbs with 1 teaspoon salt each.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the cheese sticks in half crosswise; dip in the flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat to coat each again in the flour, egg and breadcrumbs. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet; freeze 2 hours.
  • Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 400˚ F. Coat the breaded cheese with cooking spray. Add to the air fryer basket in an even layer and cook, turning halfway through, until crisp and golden, about 6 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce.

Tips:

  • To achieve the best results, use fresh mozzarella cheese sticks. Fresh mozzarella melts better and has a creamier texture than pre-packaged or frozen mozzarella sticks.
  • If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake the mozzarella sticks in the oven at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • For a crispy coating, make sure to coat the mozzarella sticks in the egg wash and breadcrumbs twice. This will help to create a thick, crunchy crust.
  • To save time, you can use store-bought ranch dressing. However, if you have the time, making your own ranch dressing is easy and delicious.
  • Serve the mozzarella sticks with your favorite dipping sauce. Some popular options include ranch dressing, marinara sauce, or honey mustard.

Conclusion:

Air fryer ranch mozzarella sticks are a quick and easy appetizer or snack that is sure to please everyone. They are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and full of flavor. Whether you are serving them at a party or enjoying them as a family, these mozzarella sticks are sure to be a hit.
