This easy dish is one of our favorite summertime meals, fresh green beans and potatoes thrown in a slow cooker!

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
1 pound small new potatoes, halved
water to cover
2 (1 inch) cubes salt pork, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Layer green beans and potatoes in the bottom of a slow cooker. Add just enough water to barely cover. Top with salt pork.
  • Cover and cook on Low until tender, 6 to 8 hours.

Aldi's Meal in a Crock (Meatloaf, Potatoes and Green Beans) image

This is a complete meal in a Crockpot. Simple and everything can be purchased at Aldi's Food Store. I use a West Bend 6 Quart Oval Crockery Cooker. I have several crock pots for different items since I find them handy for picnic's or family meals. I always have left overs which I use in sandwiches or spaghetti. You can use the meat for any recipe that calls for cooked beef/ground turkey.

2 lbs ground turkey
1 (2 tablespoon) envelope onion soup mix
1 cup corn flakes
2 eggs
1 (12 ounce) box prepared stuffing (any)
1 tablespoon garlic powder
6 russet potatoes (whole)
2 (15 ounce) cans green beans

Steps:

  • Rinse off potatoes.
  • Drain green beans.
  • Mix everything except the potatoes and green beans together in a bowl.
  • Don't be scared to get your hands dirty but remove rings and don't over handle.
  • Spray the inside of the crock pot lightly with cooking spray or lightly oil.
  • Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and gently place in the center of the crock pot.
  • Place whole clean potatoes on either side of the meatloaf. You can cut them up but you will need to wrap them in foil and stick them on either side of the meatloaf.
  • Top with the green beans.
  • Cook high 4-6 or low 6-8.

This is a great dish that can cook just about as long as you need it to! Throw it in before you go out for the day and you will have an effortless dinner in the evening!

2 lbs ground beef
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix
3 cups prepared stuffing or 3 cups breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup mustard
3 large baking potatoes
ketchup

Steps:

  • Peel and cube potatoes.
  • Line the bottom of the crock pot with potatoes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, ketchup and mustard together.
  • Add ground beef, onion soup mix, and stuffing or bread crumbs to the egg mixture and mix all together well.
  • Shape meat mixture into two loaves and place in crock pot on top of potatoes.
  • Drizzle ketchup on the top of the loaves.
  • Set crock pot to high for an hour or until you leave, then set to low for 8-10 hours.
  • Enjoy!
