Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 4

16 oz marshmallow cream
1 1/2 c butter (semi-softened)
2 tsp vanilla (or your favorite flavoring)
1/2 c confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Beat marshmellow creme on low.
  • 2. Add butter (in 1-inch pieces) and beat until smooth.
  • 3. Add the vanilla (or flavoring) and confectioner's sugar, scraping down sides of bowl occasionally. Continue to beat on medium-high until smooth and fluffy.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality butter for the best flavor and texture.
  • Make sure the butter is at room temperature before creaming it with the sugar. This will help to create a smooth and creamy buttercream.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar to the butter, one cup at a time. This will help to prevent the buttercream from becoming too thick or grainy.
  • Beat the buttercream on high speed for at least 2 minutes. This will help to incorporate air into the buttercream and make it light and fluffy.
  • If the buttercream is too thick, add a little bit of milk or cream. If the buttercream is too thin, add a little bit more powdered sugar.
  • Flavor the buttercream with your favorite extracts or spices. Some popular options include vanilla, almond, chocolate, and lemon.
  • Use the buttercream immediately or store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Buttercream is a delicious and versatile frosting that can be used to top cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other desserts. It is easy to make and can be flavored with a variety of extracts or spices. With a little bit of practice, you can make perfect buttercream every time.
