1 tablespoon olive oil
6 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (, or 1 Tbs. dried)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 lb fresh shrimp, cleaned and deveined

  • Add olive oil, and next 5 ingredients.
  • Cook about 3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add shrimp and let stand for 30 minutes.
  • Serve on large platter with toothpicks.

Tips for Making the Best Shrimp Scampi:

Tips:

  • Use fresh, large shrimp. This will ensure that your shrimp are plump and juicy.
  • Clean the shrimp properly. Remove the heads, shells, and tails. Devein the shrimp by making a shallow cut along the back and removing the black vein.
  • Marinate the shrimp. Marinating the shrimp in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs will help to flavor them and make them more tender.
  • Cook the shrimp properly. Shrimp should be cooked quickly over high heat. Overcooked shrimp will become tough and rubbery.
  • Use a good quality white wine. The wine will add flavor to the sauce, so it is important to use a wine that you enjoy drinking.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you overcrowd the pan, the shrimp will not cook evenly and the sauce will become watery.
  • Serve the shrimp scampi immediately. Shrimp scampi is best served hot, so make sure to serve it as soon as it is cooked.

Conclusion:

Shrimp scampi is a classic Italian dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and elegant meal that is perfect for any occasion. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dinner recipe, give shrimp scampi a try. You won't be disappointed!
