Time 1h30m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon cold butter

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 inch springform pan. Sprinkle sugar in the pan to coat. Whisk together 2 cups of flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a bowl.

Mix in the flour mixture until just incorporated. Spread into prepared pan.
  • Top the cake with the sliced apples, arranged in an overlapping spiral pattern. In a small bowl, blend 2 tablespoons flour, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and butter with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use a variety of apples that will hold their shape when baked, such as Honeycrisp, Braeburn, or Pink Lady.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Over-mixed batter will result in a tough, dense bread.
  • Fill the loaf pan halfway: The batter will rise as it bakes, so only fill the loaf pan halfway.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This is the best way to ensure that the bread is cooked through.
  • Let the bread cool completely before serving: This will help the bread to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Apple coffee can bread is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack.
