Time 10h20m

Number Of Ingredients 12

3-4 lbs boneless country style pork ribs
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce (may use low sodium soy sauce)
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 Tbs. lemon juice
1 tsp. garlic powder or granulated garlic
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 Tbs. sriracha (optional )
1 tsp. kosher salt (optional )
sliced scallions, as garnish ( optional)
sesame seeds, as garnish ( optional)

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinade ingredients; pour the prepared marinade into a heavy-duty gallon bag that has been placed into a large bowl. Add the pork ribs to the marinade and seal well; let the ribs marinate in the fridge for at least 8 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 250 degree F. Wrap two large rimmed baking sheets with heavy-duty foil.Remove the ribs from the marinade, patting each one dry; place the ribs onto one of the foil-lined baking sheets; cover with foil. **Reserve the marinade for use as a sauce later! Bake the ribs, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until they are starting to become fork-tender. Remove the cooked ribs from the baking sheet (it will be full of grease after cooking the ribs) to the second foil-lined baking sheet.

BONELESS HOISIN COUNTRY RIBS

Boneless Hoisin Country Ribs image

A very nice combination of flavors for a quintessential Asian tasting. Most people know Hoisin is a thick, sweet, mildly spicy sauce widely used in Chinese cuisine. And I wouldn't forego the chili garlic paste if you want some heat in the dish. Good served with snow peas, another of my favorites.

Tips:

  • Select the right ribs: Look for ribs with good marbling and a nice layer of meat on them. Avoid ribs that are too thin or have too much bone.
  • Trim the ribs: Remove any excess fat or cartilage from the ribs. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from becoming tough.
  • Marinate the ribs: Marinating the ribs for at least 30 minutes will help them absorb flavor and become more tender. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a simple mixture of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and garlic, or a more complex marinade with spices and herbs.
  • Cook the ribs slowly: The key to fall-off-the-bone ribs is to cook them slowly over low heat. This will help them render the fat and become tender without drying out.
  • Glaze the ribs: Glazing the ribs during the last 15-20 minutes of cooking will help them caramelize and develop a delicious crust.

Conclusion:

Asian-style country ribs are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your ribs turn out perfectly every time. With their sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavor, these ribs are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them!
