Tips for Preparing Asparagus Fish Bundles:

  • Choose Fresh Ingredients: Selecting high-quality asparagus and fresh fish fillets is crucial for the best flavor and texture. Look for firm, plump asparagus spears and fish fillets that are firm to the touch and have a mild, fresh scent.
  • Prep the Asparagus: Trim the tough ends of the asparagus spears and peel the lower third of each stalk to remove any woody texture.
  • Season the Fish: Before wrapping the fish in prosciutto and asparagus, season it with salt, pepper, and any desired herbs or spices to enhance its flavor.
  • Use Quality Prosciutto: Opt for thinly sliced prosciutto that is not too dry or brittle. This will help ensure that the prosciutto cooks evenly and remains tender in the bundles.
  • Wrap Tightly: When wrapping the fish bundles, make sure to tuck the asparagus and prosciutto snugly around the fish fillets to prevent them from falling apart during cooking.
  • Preheat the Oven: Ensure that your oven is preheated to the desired temperature before placing the fish bundles inside. This helps to ensure even cooking and prevents the fish from overcooking.
  • Cooking Time: The cooking time for the fish bundles will depend on the thickness of the fish fillets. As a general guideline, bake the bundles for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Serve Immediately: Once the fish bundles are cooked, serve them immediately while they are hot and flavorful. You can garnish them with fresh herbs, lemon wedges, or a drizzle of olive oil for an extra touch of elegance.
