I don't know how available Huckleberries are in most areas, I've recently adopted this recipe and intend to make it. Back In Alberta, Canada there was a restaurant that was famous for their Huckleberry Pie. I think this one looks promising.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh wild huckleberries. If fresh huckleberries are not available, you can use frozen or dried huckleberries.
  • To prevent the huckleberries from sinking to the bottom of the pie, toss them with a little flour before adding them to the pie filling.
  • If you don't have a pie crust mix, you can make your own. Simply combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then, add 1/4 cup of cold water and mix until the dough just comes together.
  • If you don't have a pie plate, you can use a 9-inch baking dish.
  • To prevent the pie crust from burning, bake it on a baking sheet.
  • Once the pie is baked, let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.

Conclusion:

Wild huckleberry pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. It's the perfect way to enjoy the fresh flavors of summer. With a flaky crust and a sweet and tart filling, this pie is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give wild huckleberry pie a try.
