Here's what you need: bread, avocado, lime, salt, pepper, radishes

Provided by Matthew Johnson

Categories     Breakfast

Time 30m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 slices bread, toasted, 1/2 inch (1 1/4 cm) thick
1 avocado
1 lime, juiced
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
8 radishes, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Thinly slice all the fresh radishes. Set aside.
  • Cut the avocado in half, and use a knife to slice the inside, then scoop out the avocado into a bowl.
  • Mash the avocado with lime, salt and pepper.
  • Spread the mixture on some toasted bread.
  • Top the avocado toast with the sliced radishes and any other garnishes you would like.
  • Sprinkle with salt and cracked pepper.
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe avocados: Look for avocados that are dark green or black and slightly soft when pressed. Avoid avocados that are too hard or have brown spots.
  • Make the pickled radishes ahead of time: The radishes can be pickled up to 3 days in advance. This makes them a great make-ahead item for busy mornings.
  • Use a variety of toppings: Feel free to get creative with your toppings. Some other options include: smoked salmon, crumbled bacon, a fried egg, or sliced tomatoes.
  • Serve immediately: Avocado toast is best enjoyed immediately after it is made. The bread will start to get soggy if it sits for too long.

Conclusion:

Avocado toast with pickled radishes is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or lunch option. It is packed with healthy fats, fiber, and vitamins. The pickled radishes add a nice crunch and tanginess to the dish. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of planning, you can enjoy this café-worthy meal at home.
