12 bacon strips, chopped
2 medium onions, halved and sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-1/4 cups water
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • Cook beans according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a 6-qt. stockpot, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. ½ lb bacon
½ lb green beans, trimmed
1 egg, beaten
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
  • Cut one sheet of puff pastry into long ½ inch (1 ¼ cm) wide strips and set aside.
  • Cut strips of bacon in half lengthwise and set aside.
  • Take a trimmed green bean and carefully wrap it with bacon and the puff pastry to completely cover the bean.
  • Place the tightly wrapped beans on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan. Brush the wrapped beans with the egg wash, and season with salt and pepper.

2 1/2 pounds green beans, trimmed
Kosher salt
1/2 pound bacon, roughly chopped
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Toss the green beans into a large pot of boiling salted water and cook until bright green in color and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain the beans and shock in a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain the beans again and pat dry.
  • Cook the bacon in a large, heavy saute pan until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Spoon off the excess bacon grease, leaving 2 tablespoons in the pan. Add the onion to the pan and saute until soft and very tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle in the garlic and red pepper flakes and saute until just fragrant, about 1 more minute. Add the reserved green beans and the pecans and cook until heated through, 5 to 6 minutes more. 4 slices bacon

This Bacon Green Bean Casserole is a delicious twist on the classic side dish. This version is made without mushrooms or a cream soup. Instead it's made with real ingredients making this a must have side dish every year!

4 strips of bacon, diced
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 Tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon garlic paste or 2 teaspoons minced garlic
3 Tablespoons flour
1 cup whole milk
2 Tablespoons sour cream
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cans french style green beans, drained
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup crispy french fried onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F
  • Spray a 9x9 casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a medium skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until done but not crispy.
  • Add onion and cook until onion is cooked through and translucent. If there isn't enough bacon fat to help onion cook, add 1 Tablespoon butter. This will depend on how fatty your bacon is.
  • Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  • Remove ingredients from pan and set aside in a bowl.
  • Add 1 Tablespoon butter to hot pan. Once melted add flour and mix well.

  • Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and crispy onions are golden.

12 slices bacon, cut in half
2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped
1 ½ medium onions, chopped
6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
6 tablespoons white sugar
½ cup blanched slivered almonds

Steps:

  • In a large deep skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Remove bacon to paper towels, and reserve drippings in the skillet.
  • Place fresh green beans in a large saucepan, and add enough water to cover the bottom by 1 inch. Cover, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until bright green and tender. Drain.
