Number Of Ingredients 5

1 head iceberg lettuce
1 lb roast beef
1/4 lb cheddar cheese
1 -2 tomatoes
4 tablespoons mayonnaise

Also, it is best to clean lettuce ahead of time and refrigerate it for a couple of hours. This will allow time for the water to dry off of the lettuce after rinsing it.
  • Once the lettuce is ready, add the meat, cheese, tomato and mayonnaise to the center of the lettuce. Then, fold the lettuce over the fillings.

Tips:

  • To make the perfect lettuce wraps, start with fresh, crisp lettuce leaves. Butterhead lettuce or Bibb lettuce are good choices.
  • To make the beef filling, use a good quality flank steak or skirt steak. Thinly slice the steak against the grain so that it cooks quickly and evenly.
  • When cooking the beef, be sure to sear it over high heat to get a nice caramelized crust. This will add flavor and depth to the dish.
  • Don't overcook the beef. It should be cooked to medium-rare or medium, so that it remains tender and juicy.
  • To make the sauce, use a combination of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic. This will give the sauce a sweet, salty, and savory flavor.
  • To assemble the lettuce wraps, place a few pieces of beef, some vegetables, and a spoonful of sauce in each lettuce leaf. Top with chopped peanuts and cilantro for extra flavor.
