Coarse salt

I have tested this a few times and these ingredients are optimal for a simple batter which allow the flavor of the vegetables and chicken to shine through. My whole family enjoyed it, even those who aren't gluten-intolerant.

Tips for Perfect Beer-Battered Veggies:

  • Use a light beer: A light beer will give you a crispy batter without weighing it down.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make it tough.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Beer-battered veggies are a great way to use up leftover vegetables. Some good choices include broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, and carrots.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When frying the vegetables, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Drain the vegetables on paper towels: After frying the vegetables, drain them on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
