Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb. Bob Evans Original Recipe Roll Sausage
1/2 cup grated Monterey Jack Cheese
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup ketchup, divided
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1 egg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. In medium bowl, add sausage, cheese, oatmeal, 1/4 cup ketchup, onion and egg. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Shape into a loaf and place into a greased 9" x 4" loaf pan. Spread remaining 1/4 cup ketchup on top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until done.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality sausage. The better the sausage, the better the gravy will be. Look for a sausage that is made with fresh, high-quality pork and spices.
  • Brown the sausage well. This will help to develop the flavor of the gravy. Be sure to brown the sausage over medium heat so that it has time to cook through without burning.
  • Use a good quality flour. All-purpose flour is a good choice for sausage gravy, but you can also use bread flour or cake flour. Bread flour will produce a thicker gravy, while cake flour will produce a lighter gravy.
  • Milk or cream. Whole milk will produce a richer gravy, while skim milk will produce a lighter gravy. You can also use half-and-half or heavy cream for an even richer gravy.
  • Season to taste. Sausage gravy is typically seasoned with salt, pepper, and sage. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to taste.
  • Serve immediately. Sausage gravy is best served immediately after it is made. It can be served over biscuits, toast, or potatoes.

Conclusion:

Sausage gravy is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious sausage gravy that will be enjoyed by the whole family.
