Tips:
- Use Fresh Grits: For the best texture and flavor, use fresh stone-ground grits. If you can't find fresh grits, you can use quick-cooking grits, but they will have a softer texture.
- Simmer the Grits: Simmering the grits in milk and water helps to create a creamy and flavorful dish. Be sure to stir the grits frequently to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Add Cheese Gradually: Add the cheese to the grits gradually, stirring constantly to prevent it from clumping. This will help to ensure that the cheese is evenly distributed throughout the dish.
- Use a Variety of Cheeses: Feel free to use a variety of cheeses in your jalapeño cheese grits. Some good options include sharp cheddar, Monterey Jack, and pepper Jack. You can also add a little bit of cream cheese for a richer flavor.
- Add Jalapeños to Taste: The amount of jalapeños you add to your cheese grits is up to you. If you like spicy food, you can add more jalapeños. If you prefer a milder dish, you can use less jalapeños or omit them altogether.
Conclusion:
Bobby Flay's jalapeño cheese grits are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The creamy grits are packed with flavor from the jalapeños and cheese, and the crispy bacon adds a nice touch of smokiness. Whether you are a fan of spicy food or not, you are sure to enjoy this dish.
